We’re excited about our Super Science Summer Camps for 2015!

——————————————————————-At the Big Thinkers Summer Camp, we introduce students to the awesome world of science in a fun and exciting way!  Our camp day is upbeat and active as we explore cool science phenomena through awesome demonstrations, innovative experiments, outdoor activities, and hands-on explorations.  Have you ever had an “aha” moment?  A moment where you “figured it out”?  Big Thinkers camp is full of “aha” moments!  Our campers get fully immersed in the science learning and witness firsthand how science is an important part of our daily lives!

• Big Thinkers camp is for rising Kindergarten through 5th graders.
• The full camp day is 9am-4pm (most locations).*
• Before-care (8-9am) and after-care (4-6pm).*
• We provide a snack and drink everyday for each camper.
• 12:1 Student to teacher ratio.
• Free Big Thinkers T-shirt if you register by May 31st.*
• Our camp has 8 exciting themes to choose from this summer.
• Please dress your camper comfortably for exploration and experimentation!

Do you like to take things apart and put them back together?  Well this is the camp for you!  In this camp, we will delve into the fascinating world of engineering, robotics, and mechanics! You will control “battle bots”, build bridges, create electric circuits, race mouse-trap cars, and much more!Chem Lab Extreme is all about radical reactions!  Do you like to mix things up?  Put your safety goggles on and get ready for a week full of fizzy fun!  Join the Big Thinkers as we make slippery slime, create foggy dry ice storms, erupt sudsy soda bottles and much more!  We hope you don’t mind getting messy… this camp has it all!Are you ready to take off? This high-flying camp is ready for lift off! From mechanical birds to space shuttles, this camp really soars! Build and launch your own rocket! Create an awesome catapult! Build your own balsa wood plane! Race radio-controlled aircraft! You gotta see this!Batteries missing from the remote? Towel turned into a cape? Kitchen a mess from an “invention”? Chances are you have a little Big Thinker on your hands! The Big Thinkers Destination Exploration camp is perfect for budding young scientists. From leaf cells to sound waves, super nova to slime, your little Big Thinker will have a blast getting hands on experience with earth, life and physical sciences. Join the Big Thinkers as we discover and explore the world around us. You’ll love this camp!(For ages 6 – 10)

Designed for campers, the WeDo™ Robotics program introduces campers to robot design and programming utilizing basic machine principles to create robots capable of performing simple tasks.  This is a very simple building and programming camp geared toward LEGO® fans. Join us as we build awesome LEGO® animals such as lions, alligators, monkeys.  Use your imagination to create a robotic soccer player and goalie!  Using laptops and very simple drag and drop icons, campers will program their models to move or make noises.  We are very excited about the combination of Big Thinkers Science and LEGO® Education!  Here we go!

Prerequisite: No robotics or programming experience is necessary.

Equipment provided: LEGO® WeDo™ Robotics Construction Sets and LEGO® WeDo™ Software v.1.2.

(For ages 6 – 10)

Designed for students who have attended the Big Thinkers’ LEGO® WeDo™ Robotics camp, campers will explore and learn more advanced LEGO® WeDo™ concepts. Exploration, imagination and skill development are the focus of this camp! Campers choose a theme, and develop robots that support their chosen theme. Themes could include (but not limited to) robots in the movies or space, dinosaurs or underwater robots, etc.  The Big Thinkers are ready for whatever your little scientist can conjure up!

Equipment provided: LEGO® WeDo™ Robotics Construction Sets and Software v.1.2 and LEGO® WeDo™ Resource Set and Activity Pack.

Prerequisite: Big Thinkers’ LEGO® WeDo™ Robotics (or equivalent experience).

Note: Big Thinkers’ LEGO® WeDo™ Robotics is an introduction to robotics, while Big Thinkers’ LEGO® WeDo™ Robotics Advanced offers a basic introduction plus further exploration of additional concepts.
